Technology Lesson Demonstration: EdPuzzle Interactive Video Lesson

This submission began with a YouTube multipart video lesson created using Microsoft PowerPoint graphics and animations with added instructional audio narration and subtitles. Then, EdPuzzle’s service was selected to improve the product. EdPuzzle added interactive asynchronous learning elements to video content, tracked learner participation, and provided limited assessment functionality. EdPuzzle’s interactive functions included only multiple-choice questions, open-ended questions, and notes pop-ups. These augmentations replace low-technology counterparts (Roblyer & Hughes, 2019). This service was chosen ahead of Nearpod because EdPuzzle instead enabled YouTube’s built-in closed captioning. In the future, Nearpod may offer greater functionality if subtitles were embedded in the content.
