Hey family,

Today, you are going to modify a presentation template to demonstrate your understanding of food chains. We will be using Prezi online presentation software to show the relationships between links in a food chain. You will explore the flow of energy from one type of organism to another in the food chain.

You will begin with our sun and edit this text to describe how energy from the sun flows to plants. You will then describe producers who convert the sun’s energy through photosynthesis. You will need to edit this slide to describe and show at least one example of a producer. The example must be something other than a tree, so you will need to replace this image and change the text.

Next, you will describe primary consumers that eat producers. Again, you will need to edit this slide to describe and show at least one example of a primary consumer that is something other than a rabbit, so you will need to replace this image and change the text.

Next, you will describe secondary consumers that eat primary consumers. Again, you will need to edit this slide to describe and show at least one example of a secondary consumer that is something other than a coyote, so you will need to replace this image and change the text.

Finally, you will describe decomposers that break down animals and plants. Again, you will need to edit this slide to describe and show at least one example of a decomposer that is something other than fungi, so you will need to replace this image and change the text.

In this way, you will demonstrate your understanding of food chains. You’ll each get a chance to show off your creativity and ingenuity and have some fun.
